Singapore-based insurer Great Eastern has introduced a new Integrated Shield Plan (IP) called P Prime, designed to make access to private healthcare more affordable while preserving comprehensive protection and benefits.
The P Prime plan offers one of the highest annual coverage limits in the market — $2.23 million (S$2.9 million) — with out-of-pocket expenses capped at $5,005 (S$6,500) each year. Policyholders can seek treatment through Great Eastern’s network of private hospitals, specialists, and day surgery centres, benefiting from lower premiums while maintaining access to quality care.
Key features of the plan include lifetime coverage for congenital conditions, up to 365 days of post-hospitalisation physical therapy, and outpatient recovery benefits of $7,700 (S$10,000) for cancer and $1,540 (S$2,000) for stroke. These provisions aim to support patients’ long-term rehabilitation and recovery beyond initial treatment.
In addition to its private healthcare offering, Great Eastern has also enhanced its Restructured A-ward plans for public hospital coverage. These now offer an annual limit of $1.08 million (S$1.4 million), with eligible bills capped at $2,310 (S$3,000), improving affordability and accessibility for patients seeking treatment in the public healthcare system.
The company is also expanding its medical concierge service, introduced in 2024, to help customers navigate complex medical processes and coordinate care. Since its launch, this service has benefitted over 10,000 customers by providing personalised support and assistance throughout their treatment journey.
With these new initiatives, Great Eastern aims to strengthen its position in Singapore’s health insurance market by balancing affordability, extensive benefits, and access to private medical care, while responding to consumers’ growing demand for cost-effective, high-quality healthcare solutions.
