15 Raffles Girls’ Primary Pupils Affected by Gastroenteritis; Investigations Underway

Authorities are investigating a gastroenteritis outbreak at Raffles Girls’ Primary School (RGPS) after 15 pupils reported symptoms on Oct 1, 2025.

According to a joint statement by the Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA), Singapore Food Agency (SFA), and RGPS, none of the affected students were hospitalised, and all returned to school the next day.

The school promptly suspended sales of the suspected canteen food item—believed to be noodles—and conducted health checks on the rest of the pupils, who appeared unaffected.

RGPS staff are continuing to monitor students’ well-being, and parents were informed through the Parents Gateway app.

Authorities reminded that gastroenteritis (stomach flu or food poisoning) can spread through contaminated food, water, or contact with infected individuals. They reiterated that food safety is a shared responsibility, and SFA will take enforcement action against any errant food operators if negligence is found.
